Seasonal pond opening and closing
Spring startups that set the year up right, and fall netting and winterizing before the leaves drop.

North Texas gives ponds two hard turns a year. Water warms fast in spring and algae takes off. Then fall dumps weeks of leaves into the water.
Getting ahead of both is the cheapest pond care there is. A good spring startup prevents a summer of green water. Netting in October prevents next spring's sludge.
We handle both visits and set the schedule so you do not have to remember.
What the visit includes
- Spring: winter debris removed and water tested
- Spring: pump and filters restarted and checked
- Spring: bacteria dosed as water temps rise
- Spring: plants trimmed, fed, and divided
- Fall: leaf netting fitted over the pond and stream
- Fall: netting pulled and debris hauled off
- Fall: filters cleaned and feeding stopped at the right temp
- Fall: pump, aerator, and de-icer set for winter
What we look for
Spring startup
Late February through April, before the water passes 55 degrees and algae wakes up ahead of your filter.
Fall netting
Mid October, before the heavy drop. Netting is the single best thing you can do for your pond.
Winter setup
Ponds here rarely freeze solid, but fish still need gas exchange and a stable, quiet winter.
